Horace, my friend, are people partake bronze?
shine of Helios is for gods, whereas honey and bread are for people.
that is why your song heard near the walls of Libitina -
where her valleys, sounds the cry for the gones.
you will not hear your songs on the vacuos feast,
wine in the bowls of gods filled like red blood.
bowls are empty, and shortly they will be melted
in funeral urns with gray ashes. then they reminisce about you.
into the temple of mournful Libitina, where velvet of groves of cypress,
procession is entering. in their hands bowls of immortal gods.
time has passed, the gardens of honoured Venus Lubentia burned down
there amongst mould and tears, your songs I have found.
Music and poetry by Agni Agnellius
